A fourth body has been found in Lake Mead, near Las Vegas. The lake is slowly drying up due to water scarcity and climate change. This is the fourth time in four months that human remains have been found in the lake. That reports CNN in the night from Sunday to Monday.

An investigation must show whether the cause of death can be determined and whether it is still possible to establish the identity. These people may have died decades ago, making identification difficult.

A body was also recovered from the lake at the end of July. On May 1, human remains were found in a washed-up barrel. This person was probably murdered in the 1970s or 1980s. On May 7, another body was found.

Police said at the time that the falling water level could potentially lead to the discovery of more bodies. None of the bodies found have been identified so far.

Lake Mead is a water reservoir that sits on the Colorado River. Since the construction of the lake, the water level has not been as low as it is now. In the past twenty years, the water level has dropped by more than 70 percent. The water has now fallen so far that authorities have warned of shortages for the first time.
