The competitions follow each other in quick succession in Gistel and Oudenburg, where the international top of paracycling are gathered. Athletes from more than twenty countries participate.

There was success again for Belgium. Tim Ceelen gave our country a fourth medal at this World Cup. Marvin Odent from Hollebeke could not take a podium place, but did drive a strong race and finished seventh in the road stage.

Odent, who won gold in the time trial earlier this week, rode at the front for a long time. He was part of a leading group of nine riders and tried to make a difference several times. Ultimately the race turned into a sprint, in which the American Pinney won ahead of the Italian Testa.

There was also international competition among the women. Spain’s Manuela Vos van den Bouwhuysen took gold in the handbike.
