Trained at Hamburger SV, his career path took him to Hansa Rostock, Jahn Regensburg, VfL Osnabrück and 1. FC Kaiserslautern. Most recently, Aaron Opoku played for Kayserispor in the Turkish first division and was even seeded there. In the current season he played 20 competitive games for the Turks (two assists).
The experienced second division player (80 games, eight goals, eleven assists) signed a contract in Braunschweig until the summer of 2028 and can be used on the right wing both defensively and offensively.
“Aaron is fast, dynamic and versatile – he also has a lot of experience in German professional football,” says Kessel about him. “He can be used variably and increases the quality of our squad. With his style, Aaron fits our game idea perfectly.”
Another transfer fell through on deadline day. The courtship of offensive player Ramien Safi from third division club Rot-Weiss Essen was not successful. Essen obviously didn’t want to give up its top performer in the winter.
In any case, Eintracht had made a lot of changes to the squad during the winter transfer period. Christian Conteh (1. FC Heidenheim, striker), Levente Szabó (Zagłębie Lubin, striker), Sebastian Polter (Partizan Belgrade, striker), Mohamed Dräger (Esperance Tunis, right-back) and Sanoussy Ba (loan, Waldhof Mannheim, right-back) left the club. Likewise Robert Ramsak (RB Leipzig), whose loan was ended early and who will now storm for SV Sandhausen.
On the access side, in addition to the four last-minute deals, there are Jovan Mijatovic (loan, New York City FC, striker), Faride Alidou (loan, 1. FC Kaiserslautern, striker) and Anas Bakhat (unaffiliated, attacking midfielder).
