Four Limburg players with Orange to France | 1Limburg

Four players from Limburg have been called up for the final selection of the Orange Women for the Tournoi de France. Romée Leuchter is part of the final selection for the first time from the beginning.

In addition, Lieke Martens from Nieuw-Bergen, Dominique Janssen from Horst and Lynn Wilms from Tegelen are also part of the final selection.

Debut
Born in Heerlen and raised in Schinveld, Leuchter was already in the selection of national coach Mark Parsons last November, but was then called up later. In the exhibition game against Japan she was in the match selection, but was not allowed to make her debut. Now she is in the final roster from the start.

Injury
Lieke Martens, who was missing from the Orange squad last international period due to an injury, will return to the selection. Dominique Janssen was rested against Japan but is also assured of a place in the selection, just like Lynn Wilms.

Janou Levels, who comes from Deer, is missing from Parsons’ selection. She was allowed to make her debut against Japan.

Practice tournament
The Orange Women will meet in Zeist on Monday 14 February. After a first training session, they travel to France where they will play three practice matches. On Wednesday, February 16, Brazil will be the opponent in Caen, Saturday, February 19, Finland will be the opposition in Le Havre and in the same place, the home country, France, will be the last opponent three days later. The country with the most points after three matches wins the practice tournament.

In 2020, Orange was also present in France. Then it finished second after three draws against Brazil, Canada and France. The latter country then won the exhibition tournament.
