A total of four people were arrested during a major traffic stop on Wednesday in Oirschot. It was previously announced that the police arrested two young men for transporting a kilo of cocaine in their car. Because two motorists were driving under the influence of drugs, they were also arrested. Furthermore, two cars were seized and many fines were issued.

The major traffic control was held at the BP on Molenheide. Dozens of vehicles were checked by the police there.

Kilos of cocaine
The most notable seizure was a kilo of cocaine hidden in the spare tire of a car. The drugs have a street value of approximately one hundred thousand euros.

The driver and his passenger, two 19-year-old men from Utrecht, were arrested and their car was seized, as was the cocaine.

Under the influence
Two motorists who were driving under the influence of drugs were also arrested by police. One of the drivers did not cooperate during his arrest. A motorist who had drunk too much to be allowed to drive was not required to participate.

The police also caught quite a few people driving around without a driver’s license. Three of them had no driver’s license at all and one driver was caught even though his driver’s license had recently been confiscated by the police.

Calling and texting
Holding a phone behind the wheel also resulted in several fines during this traffic control. Two motorists are 430 euros poorer, the driver of a tractor was also fined and six cyclists were also fined for holding their phones.

The police wrote many more fines during the inspection. Including for speeding, not showing a driver’s license, not wearing a helmet on the motorcycle, cycling without lights, driving a car without lights and someone had also been in the Netherlands with a foreign car for more than 185 days. Then you must use a Dutch license plate and pay road tax.
