Takahiro Miyashita has announced his resignation as a creative director of thesoloist. In a contribution on the Instagram platform, the Japanese designer announced that the autumn/winter collection 2025/2026 with the title ‘The Black -And- White Realism’ will be his last for the label.

“After fifteen years, the time has come to an end for the symphony. The company and I decided to go different ways, everyone gratefully for the other,” said Miyashita. “Although the decision may be shaped by sadness and melancholy (it would not be a thesoloist, if not), creative new beginnings are rare and special for everyone today.”

Miyashita looked back at his time at Thesoloist and referred to the “unshakable focus of building a solo brand that is both personally and craftsmanship”. He added: “With the vision of simply making well -made clothes, every single piece was a musical note; pure in its simplicity and yet complicated in her construction of the best tailor art and the best material.”

The fashion label, which is usually referred to as ‘Takahiromiyashitathesoloist’, had become a cornerstone of the Rakuten Fashion Week Tokyo and also beaten in Paris, where it occasionally took part in the digital fashion-week calendar. It was known for its characteristic grunge aesthetics, which was defined by deconstructed silhouettes and influences of punk and rock subcultures.

Miyashita, who founded Thesoloist after leaving his previous label (s) Umber Nine 2009, did not reveal where his journey will lead him next, but indicated that he would remain loyal to the fashion industry, “only on a different stage”.
