After FC Watford’s Kwadwo Baah (19), Fortuna Düsseldorf could apparently find what they were looking for in England again – but this time a class higher in the Premier League. According to information from theRheinische Post‘ the second division side are showing increased interest in Michal Karbownik from Brighton & Hove Albion. Polish media should also report on it.
A loan for the right-back, who has a contract with the “Seagulls” until 2024, is under discussion. In addition, the Rhinelanders want to secure a purchase option for the 21-year-old. With a market value of 2.5 million euros, he would be the most valuable professional in coach Daniel Thioune’s squad and would meet compatriot Dawid Kownacki (25).

Brighton had signed Karbownik from his hometown of Legia Warsaw in 2020. With a transfer fee of 5.5 million euros, he was the most expensive Polish player in history at the time as a teenager. At first, however, the homegrown talent was loaned back before the legal footer signed on with the “Seagulls” in early 2021. Another loan to Olympiakos Piraeus followed last season, so Karbownik has only made two appearances for the southern English team so far.
In addition to Fortuna, Bundesliga promoted Schalke 04 and his training club Legia Karbownik are said to have had their name on the list. He is also linked to Ekstraklasa club Lechia Gdansk and Debreceni VSC of Hungary in the TM rumor mill.
