“On and off the pitch role model”
After the end of his contract with Fortuna Düsseldorf, Edgar Prib is drawn abroad for the first time. The 32-year-old moves to Turkey’s second division side Manisa FK, where he has signed a contract until 2023 with an option for a further year. The midfielder played 47 games (one goal) for Fortuna in two years, 19 of them last season. Prior to that, Prib, who trained at Greuther Fürth, worked for Hannover 96 for seven years.
“This transfer made us very happy. He’s a player who can be a role model on and off the pitch, especially for our young players, who can carry the team’s load on the pitch and who won’t shy away from responsibility. He will help us a lot with his experience and dynamism. He made us feel that he is very happy here with us. We will be a competitive team this season,” said sporting director Kürsat Ergun Aydin.
