Fortuna Dusseldorf are loaning QPR defender Jordy de Wijs – left footed for defence

Double transfer at F95

Transfer double pack at Fortuna Dusseldorf. After the second division team announced the firm commitment of Daniel Ginczek (30) from VfL Wolfsburg on Saturday afternoon, F95 were able to present another new player in the evening: Jordy de Wijs comes on loan from QPR. The central defender will remain on the Rhine until the end of the season. In London, the 27-year-old is tied until 2024.

“With Jordy de Wijs we were able to convince Fortuna of a player who gives us additional quality in the central defender position,” explained Fortuna’s sporting director Klaus Allofs. “Jordy has already gained a lot of experience in the Netherlands and England.” According to the Düsseldorf team, they do not have a purchase option for the former PSV junior.

Head coach Christian Preusser said: “Jordy is the left foot we are looking for in central defence. He is very robust and strong in duels. With him, our defensive options increase. We’re very happy to have him.” Dutchman de Wijs himself referred to the toughness of the English Championship, in which he made twelve appearances for Queens Park Rangers this season before suffering a calf injury. “That’s why I think I fit in well in the 2nd Bundesliga.”
