Former world-class biathletes Magdalena Forsberg, Raphael Poiree and Gabriela Soukalova have been inducted into the IBU World Federation Hall of Fame.

The trio was appointed to the select group on Saturday evening as part of the World Cup in Nove Mesto.

At the premiere event last year, three German biathletes, Andrea Henkel, Kati Wilhelm and Sven Fischer, were inducted into the Hall of Fame together with the Norwegian Ole Einar Björndalen.

“Incredible achievements”

A total of seven athletes now belong to the group, which has been expanded annually since 2023 as part of the World Championships. Forsberg, Poiree and Soukalova combined to win 103 World Cup competitions, 35 World Championship medals and 8 Olympic medals.

“All three truly deserve this recognition because they have not only achieved incredible achievements over the course of their careers, but have also left a lasting legacy for the sport of biathlon in their countries.”said IBU President Olle Dahlin.
