Racing driver Pascal Wehrlein clinched his first podium of the season in Formula E. From eleventh on the grid, the 31-year-old moved up to third place after catching up in wet conditions in Miami. Mitch Evans (New Zealand/Jaguar) secured victory ahead of Wehrlein’s Porsche teammate Nico Müller from Switzerland.
Wehrlein, who wants to repeat his World Championship title from 2024, is two points behind overall leader Nick Cassidy (New Zealand/Citröen) after three races. “That was a great race. We had to fight a bit. Third place was the maximum after the difficult qualifying. Even more would have been possible with a better qualifying,” said Wehrlein after his 19th podium in Formula E.
Race winner Evans celebrated a record with his 15th success overall and left the Swiss Sebastian Buemi (14 victories) behind him as the driver with the most race victories in the E-Class.
We continue in two weeks with a doubleheader in Saudi Arabia (February 13th and 14th). Wehrlein is going into his 100th race there.
