Formula 1 | Vettel return to Red Bull? Helmut Marko speaks plain language

For a few days now, the rumor has been circulating in the Formula 1 world that Sebastian Vettel may soon return to Red Bull and take over from adviser Dr. Helmut Marko could take. Now the Austrian has commented on the said reports for the first time.

Will Sebastian Vettel follow in the footsteps of Red Bull adviser Helmut Marko? According to Formula 1 insider and “Sky Sports” pit lane reporter Ted Kravitz, this change in personnel could be completed later this season. The journalist had publicly set up corresponding mind games last week. But Marko just pushed the rumors.

“That’s really a bit hasty. My next goal is the third world title with Max Verstappen. That’s my motivation!” Said the Austrian in an interview with the Swiss “Blick”.

Meeting scheduled at Red Bull

However, the assumptions of the “Sky Sports” reporter cannot be completely dismissed. As the “Blick” further reports, there is speculation behind closed doors about far-reaching changes at Red Bull. A possible exit from Helmut Marko was also mentioned in this context. Just like a dismissal of AlphaTauri team boss Franz Tost.

Marko explained: “I can only say that I will be at Red Bull in Salzburg on Wednesday. And these topics are not on the agenda there.”

Regardless of his own future, Marko cannot imagine that Vettel will soon be inheriting the Red Bulls.

“We are still in contact more often. Seb is currently still in the phase of self-discovery. I don’t think he wants to travel to every race again and work more. With significantly less pay!” said the Austrian.

Marko sees himself as a representative of the currently most successful Formula 1 team. “If you can accompany the best driver with Verstappen, resigning is not an issue. My situation would definitely be different with a different driver pairing,” emphasized the 80-year-old.
