Updated March 5, 2026 – 5:05 p.mReading time: 6 minutes

The “premier class” starts the new season with 24 races. All dates and information at a glance.
The hunt for the world championship title begins in Australia: After 2025, Formula 1 will start again “Down Under” with the race in Melbourne. From March 6th, defending champion Lando Norris (McLaren) and his rivals will fight for victories in the “premier class” of racing.
The Brit is starting the season as the newly crowned world champion – and wants to defend his title. This will be prevented by the top competition for the dethroned Max Verstappen (Red Bull), Norris’ teammate Oscar Piastri, Mercedes around George Russell and Kimi Antonelli or Ferrari with Lewis Hamilton and Charles Leclerc. Who can best cope with the sweeping rule changes? And how is Audi doing with the German Nico Hülkenberg in the first year of Formula 1?
There will again be six sprint races: Sprint qualifying and sprint races will be part of the race weekend in China, Miami, Canada, Great Britain, the Netherlands and Singapore.
