The Ferrari driver from Monaco prevailed in qualifying ahead of his Spanish team-mate Carlos Sainz. Third was World Champion Max Verstappen in the Red Bull.
Before the fifth round of the season on Sunday (08.05.22, 9.30 p.m.), Leclerc leads the overall standings with a 27-point lead over Verstappen. Both have won two races each. Sebastian Vettel in 13th and Mick Schumacher in 15th were eliminated early in the hunt for a starting place.
