Formula 1 newcomer Cadillac thinks about putting Mick Schumacher behind the wheel as one of two drivers in the coming season. In an exclusive interview with RTL/NTV and Sport.de, Sebastian Vettel explains why he also thinks this from the racing team’s perspective.

The Formula 1 door for Mick Schumacher is again open a gap. The 26-year-old is part of the Cadillac candidate list and could get the second cockpit. The Mexican Sergio Pérez has already said for sure.

The four-time Formula 1 world champion Sebastian Vettel firmly keeps his fingers crossed for him to finish the contract.

“I wish him. We are of course in contact and I also noticed how things ended in Formula 1. I keep my fingers crossed for him to get the chance again because I think he can absolutely keep up with the others,” said Vettel in an exclusive interview with RTL/NTV and sport.de About a possible comeback of his former companion.

For Schumacher, the Formula 1 dream with Team Haas was “difficult to implement”, Vettel looked back on the two hard years of the U.S. racing team that was not competitive at the time. “He didn’t feel so comfortable there,” said the Heppenheimer.

In the meantime, however, Schumacher is in “a completely different stage. He is much more mature. And I think he does his job at Alpine very well in the long-distance world championship. It would be nice if he got the second chance in Cadillac,” said Vettel.

Schumacher rumors pick up in Miami

Around Miami’s Grand Prix, the rumors had received new food to Cadillac’s Schumacher change.
