SAINZ STATEMENTS IN DRIVERS PARADE

So far this has been one of the toughest weekends of the season. It has not been easy to do good laps. Sixth place was the most we could (in qualifying)“.

We will try to do everything we can to get good points. We must be aware that our rhythm is not the strongest this weekend“.

ALONSO STATEMENTS IN DRIVERS PARADE

I’m happy, the car is better than in the last few races. The improvements are working. Fifth place is a good starting point“.

We approached the race with questions about the time and the tyres. We are two places away from the podium, climbing is the goal. We must go step by step. I am optimistic“.

After this review of the main FIA Formula 2 race, we turn all our attention to Formula 1, because there is a lot to tell.

TOP 10 IN THE FIA F2 RACE

These have been the drivers who have scored points in the penultimate Grand Prix of the season:

CHAOS IN THE TOP 6 OF THE WORLD CUP

The top six drivers in the championship have had a terrible Sunday in the Netherlands. Théo Pourchaire (current overall leader), Vesti (2nd), Doohan (4th) and Bearman (6th) missed the checkered flag due to accidents.

On the other hand, Iwasa (3rd) and Martins (5th) were penalized for causing a collision with other drivers. The first of them did not score points, while the second went from fifth place in the race to ninth.

In the end, the championship positions remain unchanged.

Behind the winner in the main race, Maloney (2nd) and Crawford (3rd) completed the podium ceremony.

The first driver had struggled with tire wear in the closing stages of the session, but was able to withstand the pressure and keep the American behind.

TRIUMPH OF CLEMENT NOVALAK IN F2

The French driver has won his first victory in FIA Formula 2 after having made an extraordinary comeback from 13th position on the grid.

Thanks to changing tires early, taking advantage of incidents ahead and knowing how to stay calm to get away from his pursuers, Novalak enjoyed taking the first step of the podium in Zandvoort.

Less than an hour before the red lights go out and we can enjoy the Formula 1 race, before we do a brief review of the main Formula 2 race, which was chaotic and exciting in equal parts.

What will the Spanish do in Zandvoort?

Fernando Alonso will start fifth and Carlos Sainz sixth, a position than that of Ferrari I would have signed before qualifying began.

“We will have to know how to suffer…”, said Sainz.
