According to Danner, Schumacher also showed at the season finale in Abu Dhabi why Haas had to pull the ripcord. “If you look at today’s result: Another mistake, again unnecessary! You have to say that such a small team can’t afford that,” said the former racing driver on Sunday.

Mick is “quite fast” and he is also certain that the 23-year-old “has a career ahead of him,” Danner continued: “But he wasn’t always fast. See last weekend [in Brasilien]. Magnussen was on pole and Mick was last. Those are things that can happen, but by the second year it should be over if you want to move forward. So I totally understand the team.”

“It’s better for Mick not to continue with Haas, possibly take a test drive with Mercedes and learn something new there in a top car. We will see him again because he is a very good Formula 1 driver, even if he this year was not the ideal choice for a team like Haas,” explained the Formula 1 expert.
