Rob Cross has already been eliminated from the Darts World Championship. An obscene gesture from him sparked discussions. The former world champion has now commented on this.

The favorites have already started to die out at this year’s Darts World Cup. On Monday it hit former world champion Rob Cross. The 34-year-old, who won the tournament in 2018, lost his second round match 1:3 against Scott Williams. And not only that: he also drew attention to himself with an irritating gesture during the match.

What had happened? Cross had just lost the second set to Williams. While leaving the stage in the meantime, he raised his right hand towards his mouth, briefly moved it back and forth and at the same time pressed his tongue against the inside of his cheek. A clearly obscene act. It is not known exactly what Cross was referring to with the gesture.

However, the person concerned commented on this. He captioned a photo of himself on Instagram: “I made a gesture to my manager about how annoyed I was with my performance. If it offended anyone, I apologize.” The former darts world champion also wrote: “Massively disappointed to have lost to my great friend Scott Williams. Good luck for the rest of the tournament.”
