Former record purchase Rémy Cabella terminates contract with FK Krasnodar

Another foreign player, Rémy Cabella, has ended his contract with FK Krasnodar after Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. The contract with the 32-year-old offensive player from France, which was originally valid until the end of the season, was terminated by mutual agreement, the Russian first division club said on Wednesday.

Cabella was for the 2019 then club record transfer fee of 12 million euros from AS Saint-Étienne to FK Krasnodar, for which he was directly involved in 28 goals in 62 games. According to Transfermarkt information from Russia, Cabella has inquiries from his homeland and from a top club in Saudi Arabia.

Most recently, head coach Daniel Farke and his assistants as well as numerous foreign players around ex-Bundesliga striker Jhon Córdoba (28) left FK Krasnodar – the professionals initially without terminating their contracts. Swede Viktor Claesson (30) had already ended his contract before Cabella.
