Donald Trump has sued CNN for defamation. That reports the American Bloomberg. According to the former president, CNN has engaged in a smear campaign against him to prevent him from being re-elected as president in the 2024 elections.
CNN is said to have focused only on negative reporting about Trump and invariably ignored positive news about the former president. The indictment went on to say that CNN used “its enormous influence” to “defeat Trump politically.” The station is also accused of tarnishing Trump’s reputation with “a series of increasingly outrageous, false and defamatory labels.” According to his lawyers, he would have been called a “racist”, “Russian lackey” and “Hitler”.
The ex-president wants CNN to pay damages of at least 475 million dollars (484 million euros). The news channel has not yet responded to the charges. In July, Trump threatened via a letter from his lawyer already suing CNN and other media for allegedly reporting that his claims about fraud in the 2020 presidential election were unfounded.
