Former mayor Herman J. (77), who is suspected of possessing child pornography, says that someone sent him those files. The former mayor of Wintelre and Knegsel appeared for the first time at a public hearing in the court in Rotterdam on Tuesday morning.
“I have no memory of any sexual contact whatsoever,” J. argued in court. “So it didn’t happen.”
The police arrested J. on February 17. The judge rejected the request to be allowed to await his trial in freedom. This is because of the risk of recurrence. The case will be substantively heard on June 23 in Dordrecht.
