E-commerce group Global Fashion Group SA (GFG) has appointed Jere Calmes as CEO of its online platform The Iconic, which operates in Australia and New Zealand. Calmes will succeed Erica Berchtold in this position, the company said on Wednesday. In April, Australian retailer Best & Less Group Holdings Limited announced that Berchtold would take over as CEO there on September 4.
Calmes is no stranger to the group: Most recently, he was CEO of the online fashion retailer Lamoda for three years. The platform, which is active in Russia, Belarus and Kazakhstan, was sold by the Global Fashion Group to the Russian investor Iakov Panchenko in December last year.
Under the direction of Calmes, The Iconic is now “ready for the next phase of development,” said the Global Fashion Group. “His extensive international experience in building innovative e-commerce platforms and his global network in the industry provide a comprehensive perspective that will have a positive impact on business,” it said in a statement.
