Erwin van de Looi is a candidate to become the new trainer of Heracles Almelo. The former national coach of the Dutch Juniors is without a club and could join immediately.
Van de Looi (51) was previously head coach of FC Groningen and Willem II. Nico-Jan Hoogma, technical director of Heracles Almelo, previously worked with Van de Looi at the KNVB, where he was director of top football between 2018 and 2022.
Heracles said goodbye to coach John Lammers last week after the 2-0 defeat against Vitesse. This weekend against Feyenoord (0-4), Hendrie Krüzen was the interim coach for the group.
Krüzen will stay on when a new trainer arrives, as assistant trainer and culture monitor. Heracles is in fifteenth place in the Eredivisie with only one point more than number sixteen RKC Waalwijk.
