Aboukhlal’s goal was not the only striking moment. Earlier in the match, Hakim Ziyech fired a self-decorated free kick behind goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois. The goal was eventually disallowed on the advice of the VAR. Defender Romain SaĂŻss blocked the goalkeeper’s view from an offside position.

Aboukhal played in the youth of Willem II and PSV. In 2019 he made the switch to AZ where he had his breakthrough. The wing attacker came to ninety official matches in Alkmaar in which he managed to score twelve times. Last summer, the French Toulouse took him over from the North Hollanders for two million.
