NEW YORK (dpa-AFX) – The price of the euro hardly moved during US trading on Thursday. After hardly changing following the interest rate decision by the European Central Bank (ECB), it was last traded at 1.1796 US dollars. The ECB set the reference rate in Frankfurt in the afternoon at 1.1798 (Wednesday: 1.1820) dollars. The dollar therefore cost 0.8476 (0.8460) euros.

As expected, the ECB did not touch the key interest rates. The deposit interest rate, which is important for banks and savers, remained at 2.0 percent for the fifth time in a row. ECB President Christine Lagarde also did not hold out any prospect of an imminent change in interest rates. However, she pointed out a great deal of uncertainty./ck/he
