The 19-time Italian football champions AC Milan made a profit for the first time since 2006. The current second-placed Serie A team announced this on Monday.

The profit in the 2022/23 season is 6.1 million euros. In the previous season, Milan had made a loss of 66.5 million euros.

According to the club, income rose to a record amount of 404.5 million euros – 36 percent more than in the previous year.

By reaching the semi-finals of the Champions League, income from media rights increased by 41.8 million euros, and matchday income increased by 40.3 million euros.

According to its own information, AC Milan also recorded additional income of 44.4 million euros in sponsorship and commercial areas.

The positive balance is in contrast to the other major clubs in Italy: Juventus Turin has not generated a net profit since the 2016/17 season and made a loss of 124 million euros last season.

Inter Milan, Champions League finalists in June, recorded a loss of 85 million euros.
