Ozzy Osbourne’s daughter accepted the Lifetime Achievement Award on his behalf – and took the opportunity to thank fans and pay tribute to those who died.

The Birmingham Awards took place on October 17th, during which Ozzy Osbourne was also presented with the Lifetime Achievement Award. However, since the Black Sabbath member died on July 22, 2025 at the age of 76, his daughter accepted the award on his behalf. The award prompted Kelly Osbourne to once again address her father with touching words.

Ozzy would be “full of pride”

On her Instagram account on October 18, Kelly Osbourne shared a series of photos in front of a memorial for Ozzy and from the awards ceremony. In the text, she thanked fans for their support and reported that she believes her father would have celebrated the award very much.

The caption to the Insta post specifically says: “Last night I had the honor of accepting the Lifetime Achievement Award on behalf of my father at the Birmingham Awards. I can’t thank everyone enough for their love and support. I know my father was looking down on us from heaven with pride, because to him being a Brummy meant more than anything else. He loved this city and its people. This award would have been his means infinitely. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.”

Retreat after death

Since the metal icon’s death on July 22nd, the Osbourne family has largely withdrawn from the public eye. Kelly Osbourne only occasionally spoke up, for example by sharing the lyrics of the Black Sabbath song “Changes,” which she once performed with her father. This was followed in August by a detailed thank you to everyone who loved Ozzy Osbourne.

“The love, support and beautiful messages I received from so many of you truly helped me get through the hardest time of my life,” the rock legend’s daughter wrote. Osbourne described her grief as something that came “in waves.” At the moment she is not able to be completely “okay” again. Her post was accompanied by a short excerpt from the song “See You On the Other Side,” an Ozzy ballad.
