The Spanish clothing company Industria de Diseño Textil SA (Inditex) has announced an ambitious new building project. In January, the construction of another building at the headquarters in Arteixo will begin, which will house the sales and design departments of the Zara brand, the company said in a press release. Accordingly, the group is investing 238 million euros in the new building, which will have a total area of 170,000 square meters. The textile retailer expects completion in about two years.

The building designed by the Batlleiroig architecture firm is intended to enable the various departments to work together smoothly thanks to its room layout and thus reflect the “flat hierarchies” in the group organization. It also follows recognized sustainability standards. The energy consumption is reduced by the insulation of facades and roofs and the entire power supply is taken over by three nearby wind turbines.
