Juventus Turin remains clearly on course for the Champions League in the Italian Serie A. In the home game against bottom club Venice, the Italian record champions won 2-1 (1-0) thanks to two goals from captain Leonardo Bonucci.
The defensive routine (7th) gave Juve an early lead with a header. After Mattia Aramu equalized in the meantime (71′), it was again Bonucci (76′) who scored the winning goal.
With three games remaining, Juventus now have an eleven-point lead over AS Roma. Should the Romans not win their home game against FC Bologna on Sunday evening, Juve would have secured their place in the Champions League.
Naples manages a thumping victory
With a thumping victory, SSC Napoli had previously put pressure on the Milan clubs in the fight for the top of the Italian Serie A. Napoli defeated Sassuolo Calcio 6-1 on Saturday and decided the game in their favor in the early stages. In the 21st minute, Dries Mertens made it 4-0 for the SSC, who have finished runners-up in Italy three times in the past six years and won their last “Scudetto” in the 1989/90 season. Kalidou Koulibaly (7th minute), Victor Osimhen (15th) and Hirving Lozano (19th) had already initiated Napoli’s victory.
