Holding rightly sent off
The fact that Arsenal now has to tremble again was also due to the extremely undisciplined style of play in the London derby. Rob Holding in particular overdid it with the English hardness, in the first half hour alone he committed four fouls, some of them malicious, on his opponent Heung-min Son, until he was consequently sent to the shower prematurely for an elbow blow with yellow-red (33 .).
At this point, the Spurs were already leading 1-0 after Kane converted a penalty kick caused by Cédric to Son (22nd). Arsenal failed to find any offensive solutions before or after, and Tottenham remained relentless: four minutes after being sent off, Kane headed in to make it 2-0, Rodrigo Betancur extending a Son corner to the back post, where Kane then emerged completely alone .
Decision immediately after the break
If Mikel Arteta gave his Gunners another signal to catch up during the break, this attempt was invalid two minutes after the restart: Gabriel was still able to clear Kane, but his tackle was the perfect pass to Son, who made it 3-0 and thus pushed in to make a decision.
Arsenal continued to try, even tying down Tottenham with ten men in their own half at times. But Spurs’ counterattacks were extremely dangerous, with Emerson Royale (59′), Son (63′) and Kane (74′) failing to make it 4-0 three times.
Easy remaining program for Tottenham
The Spurs now have a very manageable remaining program with FC Burnley and bottom-placed Norwich City. Arsenal are much more challenged against Newcastle United and finally at Everton FC.
