Football legend dares trip to the biathlon

The Biathlon World Championships in Oberhof are getting closer and closer. The anticipation for the event is huge, and not just among the DSV stars. With Giovane Élber, a legend of FC Bayern is already in the mood.

The former Bundesliga top scorer paid the German biathlon team a visit to the training camp in South Tyrol. Corresponding pictures were published on social media.

“Thank you for this exciting and inspiring day with you, Giovane Élber,” wrote ex-biathlete Maren Hammerschmidt, who continues to accompany the German team: “We had a lot of fun trying out our sports and maybe cross-country skiing will even become your new hobby. “

Élber himself replied: “See you at the Biathlon World Cup. I’m looking forward to it.”

David Zobel also posted a recording with the former Bayern attacker. “In addition to the daily training, Giovane Élber visited us today and got us in the mood for the upcoming tasks,” wrote the 26-year-old.

German home game at the Biathlon World Cup

The Biathlon World Cup will be a home game for the German starts this year. The competitions will take place in Oberhof, Thuringia, between February 8th and 19th.

The German squad is already fixed. Denise Herrmann-Wick, Vanessa Voigt, Sophia Schneider, Anna Weidel, Janina Hettich-Walz and Hanna Kebinger are among the women. Benedikt Doll, Roman Rees, Johannes Kühn, David Zobel, Justus Strelow and Philipp Nawrath are allowed to compete for men.

At best, the German athletes should ensure plenty of medals at the biathlon festival. The DSV stars are sure to have the support of Giovane Élber, who played for VfB Stuttgart, FC Bayern and Borussia Mönchengladbach during his active career.
