Augsburg was only able to win five of 29 meetings. Nevertheless, BVB has a score to settle against the Fuggerstadt team because FCA won both duels in the previous season.

Dortmund is currently in fourth place with 17 points. This means that the Black and Yellows already have four more points in their account than at the same time a year ago. The main reason for this is the new defensive strength. After eight matchdays, Borussia have only conceded six goals, making them the second-best defense in the league. In the everyday business of the Bundesliga, apart from the slip-up in the opening game against St. Pauli (3:3), BVB did not make any slip-ups. The only two other point losses came in the draw against Leipzig and the narrow defeat in Munich. Accordingly, Dortmund will once again appear with a broad chest today and do everything they can to live up to their role as favorites.

FCA was only able to win one of the last eight competitive games. Most recently, the Fuggerstadt team remained winless three times in a row. The cup game against Bochum was actually supposed to bring self-confidence in this negative run. However, that didn’t work at all. Instead, the crisis only got worse with the sixth defeat of the season. In the third home game in a row, the Bavarian Swabians now want to upset the in-form Dortmund team. If they manage to pull off a surprise, they could even temporarily jump from currently 15th to eleventh place with a three-pointer.
7:50 p.m
Niko Kovač changes to six positions after the thriller against Eintracht Frankfurt. Ramy Bensebaïni, Yan Couto, Felix Nmecha, Pascal Groß, Carney Chukwuemeka and Serhou Guirassy move into the starting lineup after the 4-2 win on penalties. As a result, BVB either moves away from the three-man chain or a player has to help out on one of the flanks who is not normally planned for this. A variant, for example, would be Pascal Groß on the right rail.

Augsburg is having a miserable English week so far. The 6-0 thrashing against RB Leipzig was followed by the cup loss against VfL Bochum on Tuesday. Sandro Wagner also spared a few regulars there, but that is still no excuse for the 1-0 defeat against the second division team. Compared to the attrition against the Red Bulls, the FCA coach made three changes. Keven Schlotterbeck, Elvis Rexhbeçaj and Mert Kömür start in place of Kristijan Jakić, Anton Kade and Elias Saad.
7:30 p.m
Have a wonderful good evening and welcome to the Bundesliga on Friday. At the start of the ninth matchday, FC Augsburg welcomes Borussia from Dortmund. The game kicks off at 8:30 p.m. in the WWK ARENA.
