  • 12:46 p.m

VfL coach Schweinsteiger goes into the game without any changes in the starting XI compared to last week. So Noel Niemann, VfL’s best provider of assists, has to queue up after serving a red suspension. Compared to the previous week, Zwickau coach Thielemann changed his starting eleven in three positions: Because Gómez is missing because of the fifth yellow card, Göbel because of a hand surgery and Butzen because of a red card, Frick starts in defense, from Schroetter on the outside and Schneider on the offensive.

The last game against Rot-Weiss Essen ended in a scandal for FSV Zwickau. When the score was 1-1, a Swans fan threw a beer at the referee after the half-time whistle and the game was abandoned. According to the current status, it looks like the game will be rated 2-0 for RWE. The FSV has also rarely been able to convince in terms of football – the Swans only got one point in the last three games.

  • 12:22

VfL was able to win its last two games: against Elversberg and against Halle there was a 1-0 victory. In both games, VfL top scorer Ba-Muaka Simakala made the difference with his goals. The fact that the last two games could be won without conceding a goal is also due to the outstanding defense chief this season: Timo Beermann is almost invincible, especially in the air, and is the main person responsible for keeping the purple-whites’ defensive apparatus together.

  • 12:14

It’s a duel of opposites today at the Bremen Bridge. While VfL Osnabrück is in the race for promotion places, FSV Zwickau is in last place in the 3rd division. For Zwickau it is almost a must-win game to at least keep the chance of staying in the third division alive. The swans are currently missing a whole seven points on the saving bank. VfL, on the other hand, can draw level with the Saxons after the 1-1 draw in Dresden. In the event of a thumping victory, you could even overtake Dynamo and go into the next matchday on the relegation place.
