    Mid-term conclusion:
Borussia Dortmund II deservedly leads 2-0 at half-time against disappointing guests from Zwickau. The game picked up speed right from the start with opportunities from Pohlmann and Baumann. However, BVB managed to gain a clear advantage and take advantage of their chances. Tattermusch headed Borussia into the lead in the 16th minute before Njinmah was able to make it 2-0 after an outstanding Eberwein pass. It took Zwickau a long time to get into the game a little better and to appear in Dortmund’s danger zone. It only became dangerous in the 38th minute when Baumann failed to hit Lotka from a tight angle. Shortly before the half-time whistle, the Zwickau team thanked goalkeeper Johannes Brinkies, who saved a Pohlmann free-kick.

    14:48

Pohlmann is allowed to take the free kick himself from 22 meters and curls the ball around the Zwickau Wall with his right foot. However, Brinkies is there and can kick the well-kicked, but half-height free kick to the side out of the danger zone. Strong save!

    14:45

    Jan Löhmannsröben

Yellow card for Jan Löhmannsröben (FSV Zwickau)

Pohlmann processed a long pass 22 meters from the goal and was then worked on from behind with the arms and legs by Löhmannsröben. Borussia falls, while Zwickauer is cautioned for his foul.

  • 42

    14:44

The last minutes in the first section are running. The Zwickauers are definitely better in the game than for long stretches in the early stages, but the few chances came about more by chance.

  • 40

    14:42

    Franz Pan

Yellow card for Franz Pfanne (Borussia Dortmund II)

Pfanne is worked on by Baumann, who separates the Dortmund player from the ball in a somewhat rustic way and wants to move towards the penalty area. Pan prevents this by holding the ball with his hand. The yellow card is okay.

  • 38

    14:40

When things get dangerous, Baumann is usually involved! After a throw-in by Jansen from the right, Dams looks at the sun while Coulibaly misses the ball. Accordingly, the leather gets to Baumann, who stands directly in front of Lotka at the near post and cannot get the ball past the well-positioned keeper.

  • 36

    14:38

The players have a noticeable number of standing difficulties, which is due to the rather swampy lawn in Oberhausen. Accordingly, some sequences of the game are not really nice to look at. Ziegerle has just played a simple bad pass due to problems with the position and thus ended the first minor urge phase of the guests.

  • 34

    14:36

Baumann is sent into a sprint duel with Coulibaly by a through ball from Voigt. However, the outcome of the duel remains unclear as the referee’s whistle sounds for an offside position. The game doesn’t have much to offer in this phase, although Zwickau is becoming more active.

  • 32

    14:34

A good 30 minutes have been played and there is still not enough of the guests. At least Baumann records a shot from 25 meters. The half-shot shot also hits the target, but sails right into Lotka’s arms.

  • 30

    14:31

Leonhard von Schroetter is applying for a yellow card by bumping into Pohlmann from behind and hitting him with his foot. However, the Zwickauer gets away with a black eye again.

  • 28

    14:30

Schneider receives the ball 25 meters from the goal and tries to force himself into the penalty area against three men. Rothe and Pfanne squeeze the attacker a bit, which is why he demands a free kick. But the referee’s whistle is rightly missing.

  • 25

    14:26

    Justin Njinmah

Tooor for Borussia Dortmund II, 2:0 by Justin Njinmah

BVB strikes for the second time. Özkan saves the ball on the right side in front of the out-of-bounds line and plays a short pass to Eberwein. He sees 45 meters in front of the goal that Justin Njinmah had started low and serves it with an exemplary through ball into the depths. Jan Löhmannsröben is still trying to take up the sprint duel, but is too slow. Njinmah keeps calm in front of the goal and coolly pushes the ball past Brinkies into the far corner.

  • 25

    14:26

Mike Könnecke pulls a half-field cross from the left with his right foot towards the goal. The cross is actually too far, but Lotka lets the ball slip through his fingers. The BVB keeper is lucky that nobody is standing behind him.

  • 23

    14:24

After a simple bad pass, Pohlmann picks up speed in midfield and shakes off Mike Könnecke. Borussia plays the ball steeply on the half right, where Justin Njinmah had already started. The Bremen loan tries to finish from 18 meters, half-right position, but misses the long corner by several meters.

  • 21

    14:22

Zwickau coach Ronny Thielemann has already sent his men to warm up. A clear signal to the eleven players on the field to increase the number of strokes properly. BVB is clearly better here, even if a long ball just didn’t reach Michael Eberwein.

  • 18

    14:20

There is still no sign of a reaction from Zwickau. Dortmund continue to dominate the game and keep the game equipment far away from their own goal.

  • 18

    14:19

    Johan Gomez

Yellow card for Johan Gómez (FSV Zwickau)

  • 16

    14:18

    Ted Tattermusch

Tooor for Borussia Dortmund II, 1:0 by Ted Tattermusch

Borussia Dortmund deserves the lead. Tom Rothe has too much space on the left and brings a very soulful cross into the penalty area, with which he finds Ted Tattermusch’s head. Zwickauer’s defense left him alone and heads the ball from a central position eight meters into the right corner. Brinkies can still get to the ball with his fingertips, but can no longer steer it around the post.

  • 14

    14:17

Can Özkan tries a wide diagonal ball from the right side of defense, which was probably addressed to Ted Tattermusch, who can definitely do something with high balls. But the pass is so far that only Johannes Brinkies is in the picture, who can catch the ball. Another pass from the inside right then creates more danger. After a defensive action by Frick that was a bit too short, Eberwein got the ball eleven meters from the goal, but hit it uncleanly. The game device rolls clearly past the goal.

  • 12.

    14:14

Zwickau’s offensive efforts have so far been extremely tentative and Dortmund seem much more snappy in the duels. Accordingly, the game is currently running almost exclusively in the direction of the Zwickau penalty area. However, Baumann’s opportunity in the second minute showed that the guests can strike at lightning speed. The attacker in question has just received another pass on the right in the penalty area, but did not hit the ball properly from 15 meters away from the goal.

  • 10

    14:11

After a blocked cross from Ted Tattermusch, BVB receives another corner kick. Pohlmann puts the ball in the middle again and finds Michel’s head, but he rises crookedly and uncontrollably, heads the ball well over the box and lands roughly on Leonhard von Schroetter’s back.

  • 8th.

    14:10

BVB is the game-determining and ball-dominant team, while Zwickau has withdrawn into its own half and is waiting for a counterattack. It almost comes down to a switching action, as Michel makes a very risky dribble across midfield. However, the youngster stays on the ball.

  • 5.

    14:07

After a very turbulent first few minutes, BVB is trying to calm down the game and play forward in a structured manner. After an attack with Özkan and Michel on the right side, at least a corner kick jumps out. Pohlmann brings this to the head of Rothe, who heads a little too high from eight meters.

  • 3.

    14:05

It’s about to get going! Yannic Voigt is released on the left side of the penalty area and serves Dominic Baumann close to the baseline with a low cross at the near post. However, the striker shoots the ball past this post under slight pressure.

  • 2.

    14:03

Jan-Marc Schneider slipped near the corner flag during a liberation strike, which allowed BVB to get stuck in front. After a throw-in, the ball reaches Ole Pohlmann. He circles 23 meters in front of the Gomez goal and pulls off with his weaker left foot. However, his low shot from 20 meters just misses the goal to the right.

  • 1.

    14:02

Referee Dr. Max Buda opened the game. BVB toasts and is classically dressed in black and yellow striped jerseys. The guests from Zwickau wear red and white striped shirts.

    game start

  • 13:59

The two teams are still in the tunnel and will step onto the pitch in a few moments. The atmosphere is still rather cold, but hopefully that will change when the 90-minute relegation battle starts on the pitch. However, many spectators did not find their way to the alternative stadium in Oberhausen.

  • 13:41

Zwickau coach Ronny Thielemann is forced to make four changes compared to the 0:2 against Aue. These concern the two yellow suspended Patrick Göbel and Nils Butzen. In addition, Noel Eichinger and Yannik Möker are unavailable due to injuries. The quartet is replaced by Robin Ziegele, Leonhard von Schroetter, Mike Könnecke and Jan-Marc Schneider. Tactically, the 3-4-1-2 system used last will probably not change.

  • 13:31

BVB coach Jan Zimmermann relies on continuity, surprisingly only changed his team in one position compared to the 2-1 defeat in Oldenburg. The converter between the BVB worlds, Antonios Papadopoulos, only sits on the bench and is replaced by attacker Ted Tattermusch. This should move Justin Njinmah from the top striker to attacking midfield. It can be assumed that Franz Pfanne will be the only six without Papadopoulos. It remains to be seen whether Zimmermann will try a back four instead of the frequently used 3-4-2-1 system.

  • 13:21

With 24 points, the guests from Zwickau are tied with Borussia in 19th place in the table and are also under pressure. FSV simply concede too many goals and don’t have the footballing potential to cover up these weaknesses offensively. After all, the Zwickau team was able to generate a solid four points from the last three games. After the 2:1 against Verl and the 1:1 in Cologne, there was a bitter 0:2 defeat against Aue last weekend. It remains the case that the club has to work hard for every point.

  • 13:12

BVB II is only 18th in the table and is thus in the middle of a relegation battle. The Borussia team, which is actually so talented, has lost eleven of the last 13 games, which explains the poor starting position in the fight for relegation. Only against Ingolstadt (2:1) and Mannheim (4:0) were the Black and Yellows able to leave the field as winners this calendar year. Most recently, however, there was a bitter 2-1 defeat at newly promoted Oldenburg.
