Wiesbaden overtakes BVB

With the win, Wehen Wiesbaden overtakes BVB in the table. Borussia Dortmund II is now eighth – two points behind Wehen Wiesbaden in seventh. The guests from Wiesbaden celebrate their third win in a row and keep up with the top places in the table.

BVB’s U23s got off to a better start. And so Borussia were rewarded for a committed early phase in the 13th minute: striker Bradley Fink pushed a low cross from Tachie from five yards into the goal to make it 1-0.

Compensation with a break whistle

As a result, both teams missed several good chances to score – until the guests from Wiesbaden equalized with the half-time whistle. Thiel was completely free in Dortmund’s six-yard box and converted a pass from Brumme to make it 1-1 (45th). With a performance-based draw, it went into the cabins.

After the break, the guests from Wiesbaden turned the game around: Gürleyen climbed the highest at the far post from a corner and gave Wiesbaden a 2-1 lead with a header (50th).

Dortmund were not deterred by the deficit. After a few good chances, they finally equalized. Justin Njinmah pushed a header from Papadopoulos over the line from close range (62′).

Open exchange of blows to the end

However, the equalizer didn’t last long – a few minutes later Lucas Brumme scored to make it 3-2 for Wiesbaden (66′). The game continued to be an open exchange of bats – both teams had good chances to score. However, another hit failed. The next opponent for Borussia Dortmund’s U23s is Türkgücü Munich (2:00 p.m.) on Saturday.
