Cristiano Piccini (58th) gave the guests from Saxony-Anhalt the lead. An own goal by Magdeburg goalkeeper Dominik Reimann (64th) ensured FCN’s happy equalizer. Again Piccini (76th) scored the 2:1 for the FCM with a penalty kick according to video evidence.

Nuremberg now penultimate

The Franconians conceded a defeat after four games and slipped to the penultimate place in the table. The FCM, on the other hand, climbed to 13th place.

As in the last three games without conceding, the hosts seemed very compact on the defensive. However, the ideas were missing in the game structure, Magdeburg’s defense could only very rarely be embarrassed.

Magdeburg even had better chances. Connor Krempicki (34th) hit the bar with his head. In the second half, the hosts acted more purposefully, but still fell behind. The curious own goal then led to 1:1. But the people of Magdeburg were not deterred.
