The first new song by Fontaines DC in the new year – see the video here.

Fontaines DC are back with “It’s Amazing to Be Young” – the first new song by the Dubliner has become a hymnic, sentimental single. “”[Es] was written in the presence of a newborn child-Carlos’ child, ”explains Conor Deegan III in a band statement.

“At that time it sounded more like a lullaby or a music box, but with the same text -, it is great to be young,” continued Deegan. “The feeling of hope that a child can convey is profound and moving, especially for young men like us. The feeling of wanting to create a world in which you can grow up happily. It is a feeling that fights against cynicism that often comes over to us in the modern world. So we wanted to explain which side we are on – it is really amazing to be young. ”

Fontaines DC: The video trilogy is hereby finished

The associated video was shot by the director Luna Carmoon, with which Fontaines DC have often worked. The clip is the final of a three -part series that started with the videos for “Here’s the Thing” and “In The Modern World” by Fontaines DC.

Fontaines DC – The Lyrics of “It’s Amazing to Be Young”

It’s the cast
That brings you down
But it’s Amazing
To be Young

Sometimes I Wake Up and It’s Dark
Perform the ritual That Puts Me in the Part
Well, I sang ’em every word i had
Seems Like they’re Never Gonna Understand

That the cast
Brings you down
But it’s Amazing
To be Young

Sometimes I Wake Up and It’s Dark
Perform the ritual That Puts Me in the Part
Well, I sang ’em every word i had
Seems Like they’re Never Gonna Understand

That the cast
Brings you down
But it’s Amazing
To be Young

To be Young
To be Young
To bе Young
To be Young

The band has now won a large, international fan base. Even Elton John is enthusiastic about the Irish – the singer recently praised Fontaines DC during the band’s appearance in his “Rocket Hour Show” on Apple Music.

“For me, you are the best band that is available at the moment,” John said right away when he imagined the group. “After seeing you in Glastonbury and heard the new album, I have the feeling that you have grown with every album,” said his words. “You seem to have really gained a foothold with this LP … it’s a brilliant plate.”
