The folding trailer is back. Sales of the folding trailers rose by more than twenty percent last year and the producers in Drenthe have also noticed an increase this year.
Campooz in Assen is the largest producer of folding trailers in our country. “Ten years ago you were laughed at on a birthday if you said you were going camping with the folding trailer. New brands were added about seven years ago. Fresh, new brands. This has polished up the image of the folding trailer. And that we can see from the sales numbers at the moment,” says owner Raoul Verdink. The company does not disclose how many folding trailers Campooz sells. “But we can’t complain.”
At Holtkamper in Emmen, the folding trailers are also going out at a rapid pace. “It is actually unbelievable how that has taken refuge in recent years,” says director Maarten de Roos. “We sell about 400 folding trailers per year, but then we are in the higher segment of the market. Other brands are priced lower, that’s where the large volume is in the market. But we are very happy with the market position we now occupy. “
