Foldable iPhone Coming in September 2026
The much-anticipated Foldable iPhone—possibly marketed as the “iPhone Ultra”—is set to debut in September 2026. Suppliers are reportedly beginning to ship the first small series of components, signaling that production is underway. This innovative device is expected to feature an inner display measuring 7.6 to 7.8 inches alongside an outer screen ranging from 5.3 to 5.5 inches.
Advanced Technology Inside
Apple is betting heavily on cutting-edge technology for the Foldable iPhone. The device will be powered by the A20 chip and will incorporate a novel Liquidmetal hinge. Additionally, the battery capacity is expected to fall between 5,500 and 5,600 mAh. As for the pricing, customers can anticipate costs in the luxury segment, likely ranging from €2,000 to €3,000 depending on storage options. Although the unveiling is scheduled to coincide with the iPhone 18 series, analysts believe that significant shipments won’t materialize until early 2027.
M6 Chip and MacBook Ultra: Performance Leap with 2-Nanometer Technology
In parallel with the release of the Foldable iPhone, Apple is steering towards the 2-nanometer chip technology with the upcoming M6 processor. Manufactured by TSMC, this new chip promises to deliver 15% more power and 30% improved energy efficiency compared to its predecessor.
This advanced chip is intended to power the entirely new MacBook Ultra, expected by late 2026 or early 2027. The high-end notebook will come with a 14.3 or 16.3-inch OLED touchscreen, an integrated 5G modem, and the well-known Dynamic Island feature borrowed from the iPhone. Standard MacBook Pro models, as well as iMac and Mac Mini devices, are also set to receive M6 upgrades. However, delays may occur due to potential shortages in DRAM memory chips.
Innovations in Wearables: Apple Watch Ultra 4
September 2026 will also bring the unveiling of the Apple Watch Series 12 and the Apple Watch Ultra 4. The latter is expected to receive the first major design overhaul since the launch of the Ultra line, along with new sensors and satellite communication capabilities.
Apple is also working on AirPods Ultra with integrated cameras, slated for a 2027 release, as well as a proprietary smart glasses initiative that may redefine wearable tech.
Smart Home Innovations: New Apple TV and Smart Displays
Not only is Apple focusing on mobile and computing devices, but it is also modernizing its home segment. A new Apple TV 4K with an A17 Pro chip is on track for the fall of 2026, featuring specialized hardware for the next evolution of Siri AI and Apple Intelligence.
Additional products in the pipeline include:
- A HomePod mini equipped with the S9 chip and Wi-Fi 7
- A Home Hub featuring a 6 to 7-inch display and A18 chip
- A high-end smart display with a robotic arm, expected between 2027 and 2028.
Celebrating the 20th Anniversary of the iPhone: Introducing iPhone 20
For the 20th anniversary of the iPhone in 2027, Apple appears to be planning a groundbreaking shift. Instead of the expected name “iPhone 19,” they will directly launch the iPhone 20. This anniversary model will undergo a complete redesign, incorporating curved, bezel-less displays and an integrated Face ID system beneath the screen. It will be powered by the A21 chip using the new 2-nanometer technology.
Leadership Changes in Fall 2026
This unprecedented product lineup coincides with a significant leadership change at Apple. John Ternus is set to take over the CEO position in September 2026, strategically timed with the launch of both the iPhone 18 and the first foldable devices.
In the interim, Apple has also updated its software services. The Invites app now offers co-hosting features and new event backgrounds, allowing multiple planners to manage digital invitations collaboratively.
Through these developments, Apple is not just keeping pace with technology but also setting the bar high for what consumers can expect in the coming years.
