A top performer will stay at Eintracht Braunschweig in the long term: Florian Flick’s agreed purchase obligation applies. However, the 25-year-old will be missing until the end of the year.

The decision has been made: the obligation to purchase Eintracht Braunschweig for summer newcomer Florian Flick automatically picked up after his tenth competitive appearance for BTSV. The 25-year-old was initially loaned from 1. FC Nürnberg and will now stay with the Lions until June 30, 2028. The professional’s contract applies regardless of the league. The club did not provide any information about the transfer fee.

Flick, who was injured in the second division game against 1. FC Kaiserslautern and had to undergo surgery, had become an important part of coach Heiner Backhaus’ team in the past few weeks after his move.

Sports director Benjamin Kessel praises the midfielder’s development – and at the same time regrets his loss. “Florian brings a lot of quality and was on the way to becoming a leading player. In the last few weeks his form has clearly shown an upward trend – it is all the more bitter that he will no longer be available to us until the end of the year,” says Kessel. Nevertheless, they are happy about the early clarity: “It should continue to be an important building block in our plans in the future.”

Flick himself is also satisfied. He “felt super comfortable and welcome at Eintracht from day one.” It’s a shame that he won’t be able to intervene until Christmas, but he trusts the team: “I’m totally convinced that the team will get important points by the end of the first half of the season. We’ll attack together again in the second half of the season.”
