Floortje Dessing will not continue to live in the Netherlands once her work as a TV presenter is over. If BnnVara no longer wants or can make her program, she will go abroad.
Floortje Dessing’s home base is still the Netherlands, because from here she travels to all her distant recording locations with her crew from Floortje Naar Het Einde Van De Wereld. If her program is cancelled, the presenter says she no longer sees herself living in the Netherlands. The BnnVara star will then emigrate.
Two options
Floortje does not want to grow old in our country. “I love the Netherlands intensely, but I miss the freedom and connection with nature here,” she says in conversation with Television.
She has two serious options in mind. “I think I will end up in Canada or New Zealand. In nature with a few sheep around me. A place where I can spend a lot of time outside, forage for my own food and chop wood for a fire. That is my big dream.”
Insecure
Before each new TV season, Floortje is afraid that she will fall out of favor. “I am unsure about that, yes. I have been out for a long time. Are viewers still waiting for me? And it is a turbulent time for the public broadcaster.”
“But if this is the last time I make Floortje To The End Of The World, for whatever reason, I will look back very satisfied. I kiss the ground that I am back at all, after my illness.”
