Floor Bruins (12) from Meppel recites rainbow poem ‘full of love’

Floor Bruins from Meppel has recited her winning poem of the Rainbow Week and handed it over to alderman Jeannet Bos.

Floor is the winner of the poem competition during the Rainbow Week in Meppel, which was held in October last year. During the week, activities focused on the acceptance and safety of the LGBTIQ+ community.

“It’s full of love,” she says of the poem. Because the student of group 8B of obs Sprinkels won the poem competition, she was allowed to give a placard of her poem to the alderman.

“Exciting”, Floor thinks beforehand. And that is getting a little more exciting, as more and more people gather around it. Then she can also recite her poem. But Floor finally shakes off the tension and a big smile appears on her face.

The poem competition received 47 poems, 37 of which were written by children. The winning poem has already been given a place in Floor’s school. “We are going to find a nice place in the town hall,” alderman Bos responds when she receives a copy from Floor.
