Due to the heavy rain, the sewers could no longer handle it and the street was filled with water. Vehicles driving through the street made the flooding even worse. The excess water flowed into homes and basements.
The water also caused problems further down the Welle. There, tiles from the bike path were washed away. Large puddles remained on the Industrieweg, because the sewers could no longer discharge the water there either.
