With his flooded house – prepared for the future with a motor – the artist lets passers -by in a playful way to reflect on serious topics: climate change and the chance of flooding.
Young people climb on the artwork
But by playful, Willem does not mean that young people sit on the house, as happened last weekend. “I received a photo that the artwork was loosened and has since been driven to the side,” says Willem. “That is disappointing, because I am now in France for another project and I am the one who has to put him back in place.”
Despite that, Willem is happy with all the attention. “We have to prepare for the future, so I hope that the message of the artwork lingers with people.”
