It happened in Mezzano, along State Road 16 (Adriatica – via Reale), where a fixed speed camera was knocked down by a blow from a hose. The person responsible took advantage of the night time and the thick fog to act undisturbed.
Two years after the last raid, Fleximan strikes again in the province of Ravenna, an area where five speed detection devices were destroyed in 2024. To be the victim of the night raid, which occurred around 2 am Tuesday 30 December 2025a night characterized by thick fog, is a fixed speed camera of Matchmaker installed on the State Road 16 (Adriatica – via Reale). The column, severed in two by a blow from a hose, was reported by a passing motorist, who called the local police. The patrol, which intervened on site, took steps to remove the support and the device, starting investigations aimed at identifying the person responsible for the damage. With this new reduction, the number of devices destroyed will rise in total to 24, starting from 2023.
fleximan raids
—
Exactly two years have passed since the last episode which featured Fleximan, a name given to those who, Between January and February 2024emulated the exploits of the similar Venetian saboteur, who struck for the first time the May 18, 2023 in Bosaro, in the province of Rovigo. Those hose raids still remain without a culprit: one, or perhaps more saboteurs or emulators, armed with battery hoses, destroyed several speed detection devices installed along crucial arteries of the Emilian territory under the cover of night, hitting, among others, Via Faentina, Dismano, Ravegnana and the municipality of Castel Bolognese. The images of the cleanly severed poles went around the web, triggering a strong polarization: on the one hand the institutions and the police forces, alarmed by the damage and the risks to road safety, on the other, a part of public opinion which on social media praised the gesture as a rebellion against “fines to raise cash”. The first Fleximan raids led to the proliferation of copycats, and forced the Prefecture and Prosecutor’s Office to intensify night-time checks to stem what was the media case of the winter.
