To take some of the pressure off the northern healthcare sector, 11 healthcare institutions in the Northern Netherlands have entered into a partnership under the name ‘Fris’. This is a flex pool where healthcare workers can be deployed at multiple institutions in the North.
‘Fris’ stands for Flexible Regional Innovative Collaboration and must offer healthcare professionals more control and flexibility in their work. The flex pool makes it easier for healthcare institutions to deploy qualified staff where the need is greatest.
According to Rob Vianen of healthcare institution Vanboeijen, healthcare staff in this construction do not have to worry about job security or connection with the healthcare sector. “We strengthen each other, keep healthcare funds within the sector and offer professionals the freedom they deserve.”
The advantage of the flex pool is that employees can be deployed during peak times at institutions. Absenteeism due to illness can also be better addressed, ‘in order to guarantee the continuity of care’. Healthcare institutions from Drenthe that have joined ‘Fris’ are Vanboeijen and Trajectum.
