Handball Bundesliga team SG Flensburg-Handewitt has maintained its impeccable record in the European League.

The defending champions also won their sixth and final game in preliminary group A – coach Ales Pajovic’s team beat Bidasoa Irun from Spain with 38:35 (16:17). The best thrower was national team captain Johannes Golla with nine goals. Flensburg had already secured group victory and the main round ticket.

TSV Hannover-Burgdorf took the final step towards group victory in Group G. After their first defeat a week ago, the North Germans won 37:29 (22:16) at Tatran Presov in Slovakia. Justus Fischer and Daniel Weber were the best shooters in coach Christian Prokop’s team with six goals each.

In the evening the German record champions THW Kiel will play against Montpellier HB and MT Melsungen will play at Benfica Lisbon. Both have already purchased their main round tickets.
