Team Flanders Baloise, a UCI Proteam based in Waregem, has been focusing for years on the development of young talented riders in a professional environment. The goal is to let them move on to a higher level. Since its foundation in 1994, the team was able to count on Flemish support continuously. At that time, Flanders-Baloise accompanied 190 riders, 109 of whom could move on to a World Tour or other Proteam. A lot of West-Flemish riders including Yves Lampaert, Tim Declercq and Bert Van Lerberghe also started their career with the team.
