Flemish Patient Platform sounds the alarm about healthcare budget for severely dependent people

The Flemish Patient Platform (VPP) is sounding the alarm about the problems with the healthcare budget for those who are in serious need of care. Since the introduction of the BelRAI screener, the new instrument with which Flanders determines care need since 1 June, “it is raining complaints”. According to the patient organization, Flemish Minister of Health and Welfare Wouter Beke (CD&V) had promised a decision, but it has not been forthcoming. “Despite several attempts to contact us, we have not received a response from the cabinet. People in severe need of care are now out in the cold,” it sounds.
