Following the latest disciplinary board report of the Turkish Football Federation, Galatasaray announced that they are always ready to cooperate with all stakeholders of football in order to create a fair, transparent and reliable environment for the future of Turkish football.
Turkish Football Federation (TFF) announced that 152 referees who were found to bet were referred to the Professional Football Disciplinary Board. Galatasaray also published a statement regarding this report on its official website. The statement made by the yellow-red club under the title “Everyone is aware now” included the following statements:
“As Galatasaray Sports Club, we have been advocating for a long time that justice, transparency and ethical values should be fully ensured in Turkish football. In this regard, we shared our suggestions regarding the structural problems of Turkish football in detail in our official letter that we submitted to the Turkish Football Federation on October 26, 2023.
In addition, we took legal initiatives to conduct the necessary investigations into the suspicious situations that emerged after the Adana Demirspor match we played on February 9, 2025. Our opinions and statements about the referee, who is known for his hostile attitude towards our club, his statements and scandalous decisions, are also known to everyone.
At this point today, the fact that the same referee was cautiously disciplined for allegedly “placing bets” reveals the legitimacy of our concerns at that time. As we emphasized in our applications, a radical reform process is needed for Turkish football to become one of the leading leagues in Europe. In order to fully ensure justice, strengthening transparency and accountability among all stakeholders is an imperative that cannot be postponed.
Today, with the same determination, we continue to closely follow the process to ensure justice and rebuild trust at all levels of football.
For the development of Turkish football;
– Establishing an independent Investigation Commission with the participation of the Federation, clubs and all stakeholders,
– Making the referee appointment system an objective, auditable structure,
– Strengthening ethical principles in media and public relations is among the priority steps.
“As Galatasaray Sports Club, we respectfully announce to the public that we are always ready to cooperate with all stakeholders of football, especially the Turkish Football Federation, in order to create a fair, transparent and reliable environment for the future of Turkish football.”
